Drawing Slash and his symbols #1

Description

The famous guitarist, rock icon, ex-Guns N' Roses member and more... Slash has milions of fans, two solo albums (Slash [2010] and Apocalyptic Love [2012]). He has Gibson Les Paul Guitar, Marshall amp and more. It sounds crazy, but I will show u how to draw chibi Slash head and a portrait. But first Chibi. 

Chibi Slash Head

Chibi is anime caricature. The head is very simple, so begginers can start with that, but I recomend that to experts too, it will be "intro" for portarait. I recomend that you use pencil.

1. The head

I know that sketch we draw with pencil. But for nicer look I will use fel-tip pens.
First we draw the circle. There' s no rule, but recomended is that you draw the mix of circle and eclipse.

2. Adding Hair and Hat

First we draw the hat. The hat will show how big hair will be. The hat has small circles, and it' s very inportant the shading . If you wanna make the hat first you must make two rectangles. First is smaller and longer, the second is bigger and it must look like square. The hair must be curly. It must be around the circle, that we draw in first part. Don' t worry if it' s all over. It' s better like that!

3. The glasses, mouth and nose

That' s the last part. It' s realy easy! Under the hair you just make two circles and fill it. With small line you connect the circles and you made the glasses! For mouth  and nose you make small line under the glasses. Then you make little bigger line under nose and you get the mouth! If you want, you make the cigarette. You make it that you draw a line on n mouth and make a little bit of smoke (not too much!) .

 It was realy easy to make the chibi Slash. I draw them a lot, because i think, they present the symbols of Slash: curly hair, the hat, glasses and cigarette (but Slash doesn' t smoke anymore).

Portrait of Slash

The portrait will be musch easier to draw, if you draw first the chibi. Now I will use pencil H, but I recomend to use the H pencil and B pencil. I draw this picture with charcoal and for better look then I sprayed with lacquer hair. The charcoal you can buy at the local art shop.

1. The hat and all begining

So, if we start, we will draw the hat. It' s similar to chibi' s. On the both sides and up is arc. There' s a belt with some circles. At down, the hat is curved, so we must do the effect. We make it, that we draw softer and then more and more harder and then we again draw softer. At the end I will add files to download and see bigger pics, so you will see better.

2. The head and hair

The hair is very easy to draw because you just winding down around the head. Slash has head like if we rotate eclipse on left or right. So, we first draw the head. Don' t use rulers or something else, because people doesn' t want see all perfect. They like that we draw with our hands and our mind.  Then, as I said we draw the long windy hair, somewhere curly. We finished the head, now will come the hardest part, glasses, nose and mouth. 

 

 

3. Glasses, nose, mouth and piercing

That is, as I said the hardest part. I recomend, that you draw first softer, then, when you think it' s cool you draw harder. The easiest in this part are glasses. You draw them like you draw them in chibi. They' re made from two circles wich are fill.  Then you draw small nose. On the left part of nose is pierce. You just make two half circles. The mouth is is from three parts. First you draw a little bit windy line. Then you that line just bold encose up and down. Down you must do realy small lines (wich are end at half of lip) from up to down. At down you just a little bit shade. Then you shade the head and everything else with help the picture. For real effect of portrait use the charcoal! I the charcoal don' t have, so the pics are bad, I made them quickly :(
